Gaze In My Shoes is the premier place to learn more about shoegaze. Whether you’ve never even heard of it or been listening since the beginning, I’m happy to welcome you! 

Gaze In My Shoes is a way of showing my own experience and love for the genre of shoegaze.

I’ll be talking about everything related to shoegaze, including my favorite albums or bands, where I think the genre is heading in the future, how it relates (and is different) to dream pop, and a history of shoegaze as a whole.

What is Shoegaze?

Shoegaze is a subgenre of indie/alternative rock that focuses on ethereal vocals and heavy use of guitar effects such as reverb, distortion, delay pedals, and feedback. The name Shoegaze comes from the original term Shoegazing, which describes the style of play for Shoegaze bands since in a live setting, the guitars are usually hooked up to so many effects pedals that the players are staring down at them, hence the term “Shoegazing”.

When should I expect posts from you?

Posts are going to be uploaded on a once a month schedule, if I feel really motivated I may bring that down to a biweekly schedule. 

Will blog posts be the only type of content published?

Not at all! Starting out it will only be basic blog and text posts, but I’m hoping in the future to expand into videos and other types of content.
